When heavy metal meets dubstep...

I find that a lot of dubstep artists feel like they were 'found', when they discovered the somewhat new genre. This is a way to work out your anger! LOL Something I used to rely on heavy metal music to do for me...

EDM - Electronic Dance Music isn't going away, and in fact, feels like it's becoming stronger every year. Some of the biggest artists in the world are DJs & Producers, and they are making a KILLING! David Guetta comes to mind... he's arguably the biggest DJ in the world, and has produced tons of hits, using his style of production along with the hooks being sung or rapped by international superstars. Deadmau5 is massive, Calvin Harris as well... I believe that artists / producers always WANTED a heavier, more aggro edge to electronic music as a whole, and I believe that finally the sub-genre they so badly wanted and needed has finally become discovered. And NOT just by underground fans, as DUBSTEP is now, crazily enough, becoming more mainstream every week.. Look at some of the 'pop-step' singles out from Top 40 artists like Flo Rida and Britney Spears... they have dubstep elements in some of their new singles!!! So, back to my whole theory...

Artists like Skrillex EMBRACE this genre called dubstep, as it's an aggressive outlet within EDM. I call it the 'METAL' of the electronic dance music scene, and if you've heard some of Skrillex's bigger singles, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. It gives metalheads a reason to listen to EDM, and EDM fans a reason to look into and discover different styles metal!

So when i found this Youtube video, i thought it was SO cool. So cool that i HAD to post it for you. I've also followed up this video with a look at MY favourite dubstep single, which isn't as aggressive as most, but it sure pumps me up. And maybe you too. But maybe you'll hate it! Dubstep is sort of like one of those sub-genres of music where you're either gonna LOVE IT, or HATE IT! My girlfriend can't STAND IT, but I love the energy it gives off.

Here's what it sounds like when heavy metal meets dubstep.... with this amazing guitarist covering one of Skrillex's biggest and baddest tracks!

Here's Flux Pavilion with 'Gold Dust', the remix from DJ Fresh... ENJOY!
