A Kelowna chef is using YouTube to try help end hunger in the Okanagan.

Chef Jon Garratt from the Cactus Club Cafe and David Hughes Creative put together a video promoting their 'Grow a Row' challenge, asking people from the community to plant extra veggies & fruit in their gardens this season and donate the extra harvest to the Kelowna Community Food Bank.

The same challenge last year was incredible where they were able to produce 22,000 lbs of produce! This year the goal is 45,000 lbs.

Since the video has been released, other communities in BC and around the world have decided to launch similar campaigns. We spoke with Chef Garratt about this initiative:
