DIY Costume Ideas!

Growing up, our parents mostly refused to buy us costumes because they thought it was a waste of money... needless to say we got VERY creative using our imaginations to whip up DIY disguises for Halloween. Why not keep the tradition going, right? Darn economy.

Get inspired by these examples!

1. Slap Solo cups on a painted cardboard box for Lego:

Solo cups will transform you into a Lego:

Paint the box whatever colour you want, cut holes for arms and head, then glue or tape cups to the front. Just in case people don't get it right away... you may as well go and write the word "Lego" on em' too.    Source: creatingreallyawesomefreethings.com

2. Brown Paper Bag turned Safari Vest!

Use a paper bag to make a safari vest:

Plus, if you cut up paper towel roll for binoculers... could be for children or adults! Just don't go trick-or- treating in the rain..

3. Red Striped Shirt + Red Touque + Thick Glasses = Where's Waldo!

If have even an ounce of hipster in you, you probably have what you need to make a Where's Waldo costume:

So darn easy.

4. Convert an old hoodie into an animal with some white felt or paper!

An old hoodie can become an easy (and cozy) animal outfit with some white felt or paper. A wolf, for instance:

If you have sweatpants to match, slap a tail on them and you've got a full outfit that's SUPER warm while out trick-or-treating!
