In the Okanagan their portfolio consists of 7,000 acres of fee simple land as well as two biodiversity ranches. Funds from last year's event helped The Nature Trust acquire the Twin Lakes property. Adjacent to The Nature Trust White Lake Biodiversity Ranch, this 2,000-acre property features grasslands and riparian habitats. It is home to many rare and endangered plants and animals, and is ranked as a top priority for conservation.

This year funds will benefit their Conservation Youth Crew program. Young science students gain hands-on experience while providing important land stewardship work on our Okanangan properties.

Rally in the Valley

Pristine lakes, valley views and awe-inspiring beauty are everywhere the eyes wander! Whether that is to mountains, orchards, vineyards, beaches or romantic city lights there is something for everyone.

The 13th Western Regional H.O.G.® Rally takes place July 25th to 27th in Kelowna.

“Rally in the Valley” boasts 3 action-filled days of thrilling rides, poker runs, bike games, parties, live music and more!

The Okanagan H.O.G.® Chapter is going all out to showcase the gorgeous scenery the valley has to offer with 2 guided rides on Friday and Saturday, in addition to the daily poker runs. There is even an early bird ride for those who arrive on Thursday as registration begins. Saturday’s poker run is dedicated to the peace officers of Kelowna.

The Okanagan has riding that is unsurpassed anywhere on the continent because of the sheer number of amazing routes, consistently good road surface conditions and the comfortable, moderate climate. In a 170km stretch, you can cruise beside lush orchards and the sparkling lake, climb up to rocky slopes through slim canyons, then onto forested plateaus before descending into a desert micro-climate. How’s that for exhilaration?

Entertainment is non-stop throughout the weekend featuring incredibly talented musicians. Performing on stage at Kane’s Harley-Davidson® on Friday, July 25th is local rock and roll cover band “Colt 45”. Bring your dancing boots and kick up your heels, you’ll want to hit the blacktop to party and rock & roll under the stars.

Saturday night’s banquet kicks off with Herb Dixon, a favourite local comedian and sound specialist. You are certain to ‘LOL’ during his famous Harley-Davidson®  motorcycle impression. It’s so realistic you can almost smell the fumes!  The party continues with “Blues Brother Too and their Show Band”. Relax, dance, and enjoy this high-energy, big band, song and dance tribute act to the original Blues Brothers - “Jake and Elwood” - Saturday evening will not soon be forgotten.

Saturday’s Show & Shine will be followed by the motorcycle games, guaranteed to thrill spectators.  Shine and spit polish your Harley® and then get ready for traditional favourite skills games like the tennis ball and wiener bite.   This rally features a non-bike game too… the tire throw!  Participants can flex their muscles as well as their throttles!

In keeping with the Harley Owners Group® emphasis on safe and responsible riding, the Okanagan Chapter is providing complimentary shuttle bus service.  On Friday and Saturday night, those registered for the rally can keep their bikes parked and take the shuttle to and from selected hotels and the evening events.   Finish your rally weekend Sunday morning with breakfast back at Kane’s Harley-Davidson®.

Kelowna is the largest city in the Okanagan, offering all the cultural amenities of a major city, along with the historical orchard charm that was the foundation for the city’s success.  The Okanagan Chapter of the Harley Owners Group® invites all to come and share our amazing scenic highways this summer and to enjoy a weekend packed with fun and entertainment.

Just For Laughs is thrilled to announce that Scottish comedian and festival favorite Craig Ferguson will be hitting select Canadian cities this fall with his witty and hilarious stand up performance aptly titled Craig Ferguson Live! Don’t miss the star of The Late Late Show when he performs in Kelowna at the Kelowna Community Theatre on Thursday, October 24 at 7PM & 9:30PM.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Ferguson got his start in the entertainment industry as a drummer for some of the worst punk bands in the UK.  Too wimpy to be in punk rock, he started acting. He played Drew Carey’s boss, Nigel Wick, in The Drew Carey Show from 1996-2003.

Ferguson has also become a huge success on the North American comedy circuit.  He performs all over the country and has sold out Carnegie Hall and Radio City Music Hall.  Additionally, Craig has three widely acclaimed standup comedy specials: A Wee Bit o’ Revolution which premiered on Comedy Central and was released on Home Video in 2009, Does This Need To Be Said, which premiered on Epix in February 2011 and was released on Home Video in Fall 2011 and I’m Here To Help, which premiered  on Netflix in March of 2013.

Currently the host of The Late Late Show With Craig  Ferguson on CBS, actor-comedian-writer-director Ferguson,  won his first Emmy nomination in 2006, as well as receiving the 2009 Peabody Award for Excellence in Broadcasting for his interview with Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
