A multi-million-selling artist worldwide,
Helmut Lotti (born
Helmut Lotigiers on October 29, 1969) is a Belgian singer/songwriter who was first moved by music at a young age upon hearing the voice of one
Elvis Presley. Becoming a crooner in much the same style as his idol, his first album appeared in 1990. After a few records that got him dubbed the "New
Elvis" in his part of the world,
Lotti shifted gears, and recorded a number of classical albums (a series entitled
Helmut Lotti Goes Classic) before stretching out a bit in 1999, when he began to explore music from other continents. His albums of African and Russian musics were equally popular, and his 2006 album,
The Crooners, was a number one hit in Belgium.
