Air Canada job action having little impact in Kelowna

4/13/2012

The "illegal job action" being taken by Air Canada pilots across Canada is having a mild impact on flights in Kelowna.

YLW spokesperson Jenelle Hynes says an 11am Air Canada flight from Kelowna to Vancouver had to be delayed until an Air Canada Express flight could be arranged to pick up passengers, which it will be doing at 2:58pm.

Hynes says the job action should have little impact on departures from the airport, because the majority of the flights are operated by Air Canada Express.

"Just to clarify, Air Canada Express and Air Canada have two different unions, so that's why Air Canada Express flights aren't affected."

Arrivals from larger airports, operated by Air Canada could be impacted by the job action.
