Tap by Tap Water and Energy Kits Available in Penticton
5/4/2012
The free water and energy saving kits dubbed Tap by Tap are now available to Penticton residents.
300 of the kits will be available at the Penticton Farmers Market on Saturday on a first come first served basis.
The kits include one water saving shower-head, aerators for the kitchen and bathrooms as well as shower timer.
One third of all energy use in a typical home goes to heating water.
By using water saving fixtures an average energy bill can be reduced saving consumers between $40 and $100 a year.
Tap by Tap provides free, easy to install faucet fixtures to help residents across BC save water, energy and money.
Fixtures are distributed through local municipal channels and multi-unit residential property managers.
Tap by Tap is a program of City Green Solutions, a non-profit energy efficiency specialist.
The project has been made available with the financial support of the Government of Canada through the Department of the Environment.
Other communities participating in the program include Kelowna, Summerland, Oliver, Keremeos, Princeton and Osoyoos.
