Dangerous conditions shut down Kelowna trails

5/4/2012

A pair of Kelowna's hiking trails are shutting down thanks to recent heavy rain and Spring run-off.

Priest Creek and KLO Creek Trails will be off-limits until further notice.

Water in those creeks are running high and the banks are very muddy and slick.

Some areas are so saturated with water that trees have toppled over.

City officials don't want to run the risk of someone falling in.

Signs are posted at Balldock Road and McCulloch Road indicating the temporary closure.

The City says hikers should take caution near any trail that lines a creek or stream.
