Bulky Item Collection for RDOS Rural Areas

5/11/2012

The Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen will be having their annual large and bulky item collection from May 14th to 18th.

Rural areas, the Town of Oliver, Keremeos and Osoyoos can place items at their curb by 7AM on normal garbage collection days to have the plus sized items collected.

Residents can place a maximum of two large items for picked up.

Items containing freon such as fridges, freezers and air conditioners will not be accepted nor will toilets, hot water tanks and construction waste and doors.

People are encouraged to take these type of items to local landfills or scrap dealers for disposal.

Electronic items such as televisions and computers will not be picked up either.

Residents can dispose of these items at e-waste recycling depots located at J&C Bottle Depot in Penticton, the Osoyoos Bottle Depot and the Campbell Mountain, Oliver and Keremeos Landfills.

For more information on residential Curbside Garbage and Recycling contact the RDOS at 250-490-4129 or visit www.rdos.bc.ca.
