Central Okanagan local governments have teamed up to tackle long term transportation issues.
The group includes the Regional District, Kelowna, West Kelowna, Lake Country, Peachland, and Westbank First Nation.
Ron Westlake, Director of Regional Services, says this partnership will benefit transit users.
"All of us working together probably be better at getting our funding and getting our partnerships with both the provincial and federal governments. But just coordinating our services locally there is that cross-jurisdictional travel. We need to work to work together to provide the infrastructure and services to get people around the region."
The group will also establish strategic transportation plans and create regional policies.
