The Central Okanagan Economic Development Commission has been recognized by it's peers.
The 'Commission' was named the Economic Development Leader of the Year at the 2012 B.C Economic Development Awards.
Executive Director Robert Fine says the award is given to teams or individuals in the field of economic development.
"We have a bit of a unique structure where we have staff and contractors who have skill areas that are specific and that is how we build our program. It is really nice to have that recognized that we are on the leading edge of providing good practice here to service the region as a whole".
The award was handed out Tuesday night in Richmond.
