Regional District applying for emergency flood funding

The Regional District of the Central Okanagan is submitting an application for emergency funding to deal with the flood threat at Shorts Creek.
During a meeting yesterday, the board was advised of the immediate threat posed by further erosion along the creek in the Fintry/Delta area and that any additional flows and high water levels in the creek could cause problems.
The Regional Emergency Program is developing a plan to stop any serious erosion by diverting flows of the creek.
An application for funding will be submitted to Emergency Management BC over the weekend with a response hopefully received by Monday.
