A 737 operated by West Jet will be inspected after having to make an emergency landing at Kelowna International Airport this morning.
The plane, carrying roughly 97 passengers was coming from Vancouver enroute to Edmonton, when it reported a mechanical failure around 7:45am.
Jenelle Hynes with YLW says it was all hands on deck to ensure the plane landed safely.
"Aircraft rescue firefighters were on standby. Kelowna Fire Department, Lake Country Fire Department, Ellison Fire Department and BC Ambulance along with RCMP were all on scene."
Hynes says many of the plane's passengers have already been re-booked on flights to Edmonton.
