Busy day for fire crews

7/9/2012

Foresty crews were in fine form Monday afternoon after fighting several small fires.

Lightning was the culprit as a thunderstorm passed through the area.

A Forestry plane blanketed a small forest fire with retardant near Layer Cake Mountain before lightning started another fire near Blue Grouse Mountain.

Another small fire, also caused by lightning, was reported in the Loon Lake area.

This time rain quickly extinguished that one.
