Thousands without power in West Kelowna and Peachland

7/19/2012

Roughly 4,000 customers and residents in the West Kelowna and Peachland area are without power this afternoon.

West Kelowna RCMP says a tree fell onto a live power line shortly after 10:00 o'clock this morning, causing the power outage.

BC Hydro crews are working to repair the damaged lines and expect to have power restored by 8:00pm.

As a result of the power outage, the District of Peachland has issued an immediate boil water advisory for all residents.

The water system will assessed once the power has been restored.
